JEANNIE BROOKS
Jeanne developed a lifelong passion for the environment, wildlife, and conservation through her upbringing in a farming community in the countryside. In her twenties, she purchased a Scottish Highland estate, dedicating herself to restoring forest land through large-scale reforestation, replanting it so deer and native species could reclaim their natural habitats. The project earned her the honorary title of Laird, which she fondly acknowledges, even if she rarely uses it.
In her spare time, Jeanne enjoys walking through woodland trails, listening to birdsong, and watching new wildlife flourish across the estate. Her experiences inspired her book The Pine Spirit, a gentle and imaginative story of talking pines, playful animals, flowing brooks, wind-carried cones, and replanting the forest lands, offering readers a peaceful escape while quietly encouraging conservation and respect for the natural world.
